why does EA treat us like criminals and force us to deal with their half-assed counter piracy DRM bull**bleep** which they don't even have the infrastructure to support!?!?
Dear EA, please un**bleep** the following:
-Allow city saves to own hard drive (your game has disconnected / crashed / glitched at least 4 ocassions where i have lost all my supposedly saved games which were gone upon re-login.)
-Allow singleplayer offline, i am getting Login errors while trying to play singleplayer... LOGIN ERRORS for SINGLE PLAYER.
-The Map size is way too small, whoever approved that map size has to be facepalming at that colossal mistake. Fix it.
Well I will be the 1st person not to just outright insult and yell.
First off everyone who has played a "Only Online" Game (eg. D3) should know the first few days may be rough.. I am not saying its not BS i payed 80$ for the DDE but getting mad is not going to fix it.. Its only day 2. These guys worked their ass's off making this game for us and yes they may be haveing problems now but that doesnt mean the Game itself sucks..
Second.. Go outside, Shower, Eat i mean if playing this game is the only thing you have going for yourself this particular week .. your the pathetic ones not EA. Im sure they are working hard to fix these problems... Why would they put their reputation on the line? **bleep** happens and when technology or internet is involved things can get screwy.
Stop blaming them.. and asking for a refund are you kidding me? i have 4 games that i bough for anywhere from 40-80$ that sucks balls and wish i never bought (BTW Simcity isnt one of them) but i dont complains about it i will just make smarter purchases.
EA doesnt owe anyone their money back.. Unless these problems last a few weeks or even a month. QQ less and just be patient.

I'm sorry, you're saying we're pathetic because we set aside time to enjoy somethng we paid money for? Seriously?
I agree that asking for a refund is a little much, but we aren't going to "stop blaming them". Of course its their fault, who else would be responsible for these problems?

If I build a new ice cream shop in your town that you've been hearing about for years oversees and are anxiously awaiting and the day comes that I open but I presold waffle cones but failed to predict how much batter I was going to drop on the florr and I sold out but said come back tomorrow and I'll give you one - not only would you come back tomorrow but after a few days you would proably forget it even happened.
Point being - people like to yell and scream when they don't get what they want but as soon as everything is working properly for them regardless of what issues you had at rollout you're going to play it anyway. Those people that are demanding refunds on digital copies are going to play it anyway once it's working. If I ran the company, the minute someone threatened they wanted a refund they would be banned from ever using it once it did work because eveyrone knows as soon as it's working they'll be upset they can't play it.

NO. It is NOTHING like that and you know it.

Exactly - it's not a scam. It is frustrating and i'm sure they're scrambling to deploy additional hardware but the people who are yelling that it should have been done in a 10min period clearly have no concept of the architecture that is required in doing so.
I'm a little frustrated that I'm stuck in a hotel and was using this to pass the time and now I have to watch 4 crappy ESPN channels and the local news for 2 weeks while away on business but hey - that's life.
The only thing that bothers me about all these servers and just jumping on whatever is available is there is no cross server replication being done. any cities built on 1 server are not available on others and that **bleep** tutorial pops up again. THAT should have been addressed before going live, failure to measure load is one thing, failure to replicate is another.

i never wanted an online game, i wanted a single player game. i'm mostly ok with waiting, but now my cities are gone, and i thought i would play another sims game, but none of them will work now. so now i'm thinking they messed up here. they took short cuts and we pay for it. why is that ok?

Explain why you see it as a shortcut? Failure to know your userload across the world I don't see as a shortcut, I see it as information you could never possibly have until you flip the switch.

well they had the total number of pre-orders to give them an idea. theservers are also one of the things not working. even if it shows room, i can't play. there whould be an online mode, but everything is server side. why? what other games can you name that you pay for and all you get is the launcher. all the data, saved games are on a server that fails. if my PC fails it my fail, but if there server fails i just have to deal with it? let it go?

Hey guys, i was also experiencing the"Unable to create your city at this time. Please claim a city again later" message and share your frustration. So i thought to my self, if i can't claim a city on this server (for me it was Europe East 1) how about i try another. After hoping into multiple servers, i was able to find one that allowed me to claim a city (North America East 1), noticeably it was the first server i join when i got my game. This fixed my "Unable to claim a city" problem and i was happily creating my city until the servers went down for maintenance. Thought i would share that.
