we all knew EA was a **bleep**ty company, give it a chance to redeem itself, and it failled miserably.
for the people laughing at 'nerdrage' I think its out of place. We bought a product, product not working properly. Unfortunately, cant get refund, so this is more or less theft.
I regret that purchase.
Just thought I would add my hat to this. I struggled to get the game to even start, I had the random crashing at start up, but having finally sorted that out and finished the tutorial, I can't start my own city.
This really is starting to remind me of Diablo 3 all over again. Game gets released and it's a week or two before I can even start playing the game decently.
Not impressed so far...

How did EA/Maxis screw this up so royally....this is your job. People get fired for this level of incompetence and is on the level of The WarZ "launch".

This is a load of bull...and the bad thing is EA is probably laughing at us...or worse, they are ignoring us. I paid 60 dollars and can not even play. Going to play some game on steam.

has EA released any kind of statement regarding this issue?

Also getting the same issue, tried to apply the all the "fixes" mentioned on this topic. So far nothing, I'm in Brazil so I spent close to Us$70 on the game and so far all I was able to do is watch people playing it on Youtube, I guess I can do that for free.
EA stop FORCING me to pirate your games, let me just buy it, spend money on it and actually be able to play.
why does EA treat us like criminals and force us to deal with their half-assed counter piracy DRM bull**bleep** which they don't even have the infrastructure to support!?!?
Dear EA, please un**bleep** the following:
-Allow city saves to own hard drive (your game has disconnected / crashed / glitched at least 4 ocassions where i have lost all my supposedly saved games which were gone upon re-login.)
-Allow singleplayer offline, i am getting Login errors while trying to play singleplayer... LOGIN ERRORS for SINGLE PLAYER.
-The Map size is way too small, whoever approved that map size has to be facepalming at that colossal mistake. Fix it.
This is really annoying. Not only were they not prepared for all the traffic, which they should have been, they know how many games they've sold, they know they have a large community, they should be prepared for everyone.
What's worse is that like many people I can't claim a city. I finally managed to play the tutorial this morning but c'mon I want to play for real! This is so wrong. I'm a long time Sims fan and you'd think I'd be used to all the disappointment but somehow I still manage to be surprised by the problems I run into when trying to play EA games.
This is ridiculous.

Does anyone from EA ever even read any of this? or is this just a place to send us b/c they don't care?
