unable to install using EA app on windows 11 23H2

I have had SimCity Societies for a long time, and have had the deluxe version on disk even longer. I am trying to reinstall SimCity Societies and SimCity Societies: Destinations after having to do a factory restore on my system. I have got it downloaded, but install is failing at the stage where it tries to install .NET 3.5. The game thinks that .NET 3.5 is not installed, when in fact it is. I went into Windows optional features and uninstalled the option and re-installed it after a rebooting again. As far as i can tell, .net 3.5 is working properly. the setup for the gam brings up the .net 3.5 "is installed through the OS" dialogs, since there it is already installed, there is nothing to be done. and then setup says it is unable to complete because .net 3.5 is unable to be installed.  any one know how to get past this on Win11? Last time i installed it i was running win10, and it was installed via Origin.and there was no issues during install back then.

  • The easiest way to Detect which version of NET you have on your system is to use a little program called "NET Version Detector" by Asoft. I'm not sure if I am allowed link it here, but you can just do a search for "NET Version Detector Asoft" (exact with quotes) and it should be the first result.

The very nice this about this little program is it not only tells you which NET you have installed, but allows you to easily install other versions of NET that you may need. *Be sure to Reboot after removing or installing another or additional version of NET.

After you get your NET situation sorted out, then try to Install your game.

    Hope This Helps! 🙂
