VS (2008) runtime redistributable error code for SimCity(2013) game download.

As I have found out on VSCode site that VC++ runtime error comes from the fact the 2008 version is no longer supported? I can’t download simcity 2013 because of this error but I have no idea how to bypass this. I just bought the game from EA site but I cannot play it. All help is greatly appreciated.
