Why does my purchased simcity 2013 game take so long to start? 🤔😒

Trying to start my game to play offline is a pain and I cannot figure out "offline mode" since there may come a time I wish to play and not have internet access. Is "Offline mode" set from EA app or game? 😒

So I go online to "update" EA app, restart and now game shows "preparing...." and nothing. I PAID for this game and not happy not being able to play it now. 😠
