Cant access playtest anymore, because of unlinked PSN account

I've been playtesting the upcoming skate. game on my PS5 for the past week or so, and it’s been a great experience — until I ran into a mess involving my EA and PlayStation accounts.

The Problem

Originally, I was using an EA account that didn’t have my main PSN account linked. Somehow, this still allowed me to participate in the skate. playtest, which I did using that PSN profile.

Eventually, I wanted to clean things up and make sure my EA and PSN accounts were properly connected — especially with future games like Battlefield 6 coming up.

That’s when everything broke down.

What Happened

Tried to Link PSN to Main EA Account

I tried linking my PSN account to my main EA account but got an error saying it was already linked to another EA account (which I had forgotten about).

Unlinked from Old EA Account

I logged into that second EA account and unlinked my PSN account successfully.

Tried Again with Main EA Account

I then tried to link my PSN account to the correct EA account (the one I wanted to use going forward), but I got an error: “This EA account can only have one PSN account linked in its lifetime.”

Created a Third, Clean EA Account

To fix the confusion, I changed the login email of the old EA account to free up my primary email. Then I created a brand new EA account using my main email and successfully linked my PSN account to that one.

The Result

This new EA account is now the one I plan to use for all future EA games. Everything seems correctly set up — email, PSN link, etc.

But when I open the skate. playtest on PS5, I now get this error:

“Not authorized to play.”

I’m completely locked out of the game.

My Concern

I had assumed the skate. playtest license would be tied to my PSN account, but now it seems it was tied to the specific EA account I initially used — the one that didn’t have my PSN properly linked.

This whole process of unlinking and linking accounts is incredibly fragile and confusing. It’s frustrating that trying to fix mismatched accounts has effectively removed my access to the playtest.

Is There Any Help?

I’d love to keep playing and giving feedback on the skate. playtest, but at this point, I’m not sure if there’s any way back. Has anyone else experienced this?

Is there a way for EA Support to transfer playtest access to my now-correct EA account that’s properly linked to my PSN? Or should I just give up on playtesting skate. altogether?

If anyone from EA is reading this — please help! This situation feels like it shouldn’t happen.
