Can't place session markers?

Been trying to play the playtest, but in the tutorial missions when I am prompted to place a session marker when using the input there is no indication of session marker placement, and the quest does not progress as if there had been. This effectively soft locks the game as the characters input is taken away and the only option is to quit only to be put back right at the same tutorial mission on return. Have tried with multiple controllers to ensure this isn't a hardware issue hopefully this can be resolved soon!
