flick recognition

the flick-it recognition between the (Nollie) 360 (Inward) Hardflips and (Nollie) (Inward) Hardflips is GROSSLY inconsistent. I had to turn on the flick-it visualizer just to make sure I wasn't crazy, I wasn't.

I even tried exaggerating the flick-it motion: I tilted the joystick completely East (sometimes I made sure to tilt it slightly Southeast) > up just before hitting North, then straight down... HOW TF IS THAT HARDFLIP??? and just to fk with me, sometimes it came out as a 360 Flip.

When I turned on the Flick-it visualizer, I saw the dragged path of my joystick hug the registered hardflip. Not a single point of my dragged path was covered by the registered nollie hardflip when attempting a nollie 360 hardflip.

Whatever code/program you have is not doing a good job recognizing that trick.

Same issue with the Nolllie Varial Flips coming out as 360 Shove its, Kickflips, and the god dm 360 flips.

IDK, they have different stick inputs.

The following trick inputs are read like the hours on the face of a clock. With 1 being 1 o'clock, 6 being 6 o'clock, etc.
    When u see "5-6-1" that means ur stick input should be "5 o'clock to 6 o'clock to 1 o'clock"

Inward Heelflip: 5-6-1 or 7-6-11 depending on stance
Hardflip: 7-6-11 or 5-6-1 depending on stance
360 Inward Heelflip: 3-6-1 or 9-6-11 depending on stance
360 Hardflip: 9-6-11 or 3-6-1 depending on stance

Thinking of the inputs like this helps me perform the tricks pretty consistently. I'm Regular so the Inward Heelflip and 360 Inward Heelflip are much easier to perform than the Hardflip and 360 Hardflip just because it's easier for me to do 5-6-1 and 3-6-1 instead of 7-6-11 or 9-6-11.

I just tried the Nollie Inward Heelflip and Nollie 360 Inward Heelflip and I definitely see what u're talking about. The Nollie Hardflip and Nollie 360 Hardflip are achievable way more consistently, but the Nollie Inward Heelflip and Nollie 360 Inward Heelflip seem to register my stick movement on the opposite side, but I never went that way.

Instead of registering my stick movement as:
    1-12-5 (1 o'clock to 12 o'clock to 5 o'clock)
    it registers the movement as:
    1-12-7 (1 o'clock to 12 o'clock to 7 o'clock)
    or sometimes even as:
    2-6 counterclockwise (2 o'clock to 6 o'clock counterclockwise)

  • Seconded, not just on nollies either. The difference between inward heel and 360 inward heel as well as hardflip and 360 hardflip in any stance is almost nonexistent, nearly identical input can trigger either trick seemingly at random. I spent a WHILE getting varial flips/varial heels down so at least I know that was a skill issue, but working on the others hasn't improved consistency.

  • Yes! Same exact issue here. Also in the inconsistent opp height. Getting to the end of a line and not jumping high enough onto a grind near the end can be frustrating.
