The issue for anyone running an i7-2600 (or other Gen 2/Gen 3 Intel chips and Xeons from that era) is a hard instruction set limitation introduced with the Season 4 update. The new patch requires AVX2 support, which these older CPU architectures physically lack, resulting in an immediate illegal instruction crash (0xC000001D) at boot. It's a bummer, but it looks like Season 4 marks the end of the road for these legacy chips unless EA decides to roll back the optimization requirements.
