Please don't ruin the game by adding microtransactions for cosmetics, it's quite rediculous to add that already even when we're just in the pre-alpha stage. i know u guys have to get money somewhere but i think this would just actively ruin the game. the gameplay and the rest of it is really fun though but i want to be able to customize my character without the need and feel of spending money

We are testing all aspects of the game, even the micro transactions systems. All spending will be turned back into in-game currency on the next stage (early pre release) so you will not lose anything if you decide to pop purchase items
Nothing about this mess is genuine to the skate franchise or skate culture which is inherently part of the punk, rock, metal alt scene. The most anti capitalist demographic you can be part of. I don't think anyone on this team ever played Skate 3 or know anything about the culture. Make the game, sell the game. That's it, you have a game. End of.
The games is going to be free to play, the only way that is possible is by doing micro transactions. If you like the game and want to support it, buy micro transactions. No one is forcing it. Now if this was a $60 dollar game id totally be on your side. Think about how long Fortnite has been around and how much content they have put out and yet no one has ever had to pay for the game. As long as its not pay-to-win and the game is free, i dont see a problem. But this is obviously a personal preference.
You think that those types of sub-cultures really exist anymore? They have all been turned into a product man. Plus, skateboarding has ALWAYS been a market for selling style and attitude. ESPECIALLY since it blew up in ‘99.
Im not against MTX in a free to play game. However their current design method of it and charging us real money in a pre-alpha test is really in poor taste. They don't need OUR money to test their transaction code. They say they'll refund us, but why should I have to pay them at all for an unreleased and unfinished test game? Absolutely not.
"You can unlock customisation by playing the game." is a cop out answer to this problem. It gives EA the idea that they can give us low effort and slim pickings for playing the game, and instead all the items you actually want will cost real money. This is how it currently is in the playtest, and its really stupid. No way is charging us real currency necessary for a playtest.
Yeah, and though they will refund everything into in-game currency every time the game resets, they still keep the money. What if the game gets cancelled by any reason or I will not play the game when it releases? They should also have a balance between buying specific things with real money and getting some sick things by completing challenges for example, just the same way previous Skate games did. If they still need money, then they should directly not make it free.
Have you not seen the skate videos? These developers were/are actually skaters.
