I will formally echo this. Transition physics are currently broken with regard to the momentum physics associated with pumping on upward and downward slopes. Specifically, upward transition physics decrease on any pump assistance setting and when pumping properly, and without pumping as well. Similarly, downward transition physics increase in an exaggerated manner, especially when pumping. It's almost like there is some type of inversion bug.
I am also surprised that vert mechanics have not been resolved at this stage of the offering. This game has a significant amount of potential in my opinion, despite the obnoxious Gen Z design language, and dumbed down commentary and concepts. The game itself is very fun, the additions to parkour and off-board locomotion are brilliant and should hopefully improve over time as well.
All things considered, everything seems to be heading a very positive direction. I've played skate since the original, and I'm a huge fan of black box. The new team has taken most of the important mechanics and improved on them, barring certain refinement that absolutely needs to be made. To be clear, I was alpha testing this 2 years ago and it was almost unplayable at that point. The borked vert mechanics at this stage are very surprising however.
