the visual updates somehow have made the characters look like they all have a rash of some sorts. what we meant by "update" or "change" the visual style is make the game look real. like the others...
I'm fully grasping your point. It's just that your point is complete nonsense. What does a "man" face shape look like? Do you really need to be babied, step-by-step through the character creation process with each face shape, so that you can see which ones can be made masculine enough for your shifting goalposts?
Are you stoked about getting t-shirts and hats in your boxes that you AREN'T forced to get to progress? The game is not entirely made with girl stuff you weirdo. If you don't like it, don't wear it. Or make a better suggestion like "It would be great if we could just choose which clothing to buy instead of relying on a random loot box."
I saw some of these ridiculous complaints before, so not too long ago I actually counted the loot box cosmetics, since I have every single one of them. Since you seem to be freakishly averse to "girl things", I'll categorize them into "boys" and "girls" clothes, like we're back in the 1960's. There are 8 bras/crop tops, 7 skirts/leggings and 3 dresses. That's 18 "girl" clothing items. 20 if you want to be a real stodgy loser and count the 2 pairs of short shorts. For everything else, there's 37 tops, 21 bottoms and 3 outfits that are "boy" or neutral clothing items, for a total of 61. 59 excluding the shorts. Now, which is the bigger number, 18 or 61? 20 or 59?
You actually just described why most people have left. Recycled missions and microtransactions. And also the game is unfinished and has a lot of really annoying, persistent bugs. Lots of people indeed aren't a fan of the artstyle, but if that's what makes you give up playing a game that you otherwise think is fun, that's on you. You continuing to play the game is not holding the company accountable when all you're doing in this thread is complaining that you can't make your character look masculine enough for your sensitive tastes.
the reason i have my opinion is look at those items.
if you think im counting recolors of blank t-shirts. im not if you think im counting shoes period. im not. because i think its beyond lazy that recolors even exist in the game as something to unlock.
you notice how the only graphic tee unlock is a crop top? you notice how theres 10 full rainbow items you gotta unlock? that every pair of socks is thigh high?
im not even trying to be "edgy" its a opinion based on what ive seen provided.
for men the unlocks are "hey we got like a grey v neck. you dont like that? grey round sweatshirt with no logo? dam. how about blue hoodie no logo? you dont like getting 3 of the same pair of black pants? ugh youre picky; oh you wanted skater branded shoes? thatll be 6-8$ sorry fam you are asking too much"
meanwhile on the more feminine end "hey yo you want graphic crop tops? skirts for days? we got you dock martins with glitter laces in the battlepass for free just for you. we added k-pop dances with pink pants the whole nine sister the skate world is yours take it; its yours"
its almost like they are trying to appease to a female not even skater audience. wouldnt you think?
and why im still playing? because EA has said since day one that the voice of the community matters. if i dont test out the game how will i have any opinion to give for any kind of hope to change the direction of the game.
but yeah you right honestly i should be like the other 98% of players and just leave and not come back trueeeeee
Your opinion is based on nothing but flat out incorrect information.
if you think im counting shoes period. im not.
I didn't include shoes in my count. Nor socks, nor accessories. Literally just the categories as the game lists them: tops, bottoms and outfits.
you notice how the only graphic tee unlock is a crop top?
Incorrect, excluding all the starting clothing, I've got 7 standard, full-length t-shirts with graphic designs. As well as 1 sleeveless shirt, and 7 sweatshirts. Only 1 single crop top.
you notice how theres 10 full rainbow items you gotta unlock?
Incorrect, there are only 3 that you can unlock. You aren't forced to. A tank top, a pair of shoes and a pair of socks. And that's an exceptionally weird thing for a "non-edgy" bi man to complain about.
that every pair of socks is thigh high?
Honestly at this point I don't think you even have eyes. These are the tallest socks in the game right now, they aren't even over-the-knee. And do you really think only girls wear knee-high socks?
meanwhile on the more feminine end "hey yo you want graphic crop tops? skirts for days? we got you dock martins with glitter laces in the battlepass for free just for you. we added k-pop dances with pink pants the whole nine sister the skate world is yours take it; its yours"
If you're not going to count reskins of shirts/sweatshirts as separate items, then you can't count reskins of skirts when it's in your favor. There's literally one style of skirt just with different colors. Also, the laces on the "Doc Martens" are not glittery. And as for the rest of that list, if you think that's exclusively feminine, that's on you and your shallow masculinity, buddy.
im not even trying to be "edgy" its a opinion based on what ive seen provided.
You are explicitly trying to be edgy if you're an adult complaining about rainbows. And as I've already pointed out, you're not basing your opinion on the actual truth. Not a single thing you said was accurate.
Notice how NONE of your complaints now have anything at all to do with the characters' faces looking androgynous or "kind of asian". You're free to not like the artstyle. But you aren't even complaining about that anymore. I've shown you evidence that, to any reasonable person, dismantles your initial claims. And now you're just complaining that you think the game was made to pander to women. There are so many things wrong with the game. The artstyle, as Akelaphobia mentioned, would be a monumental undertaking to change at this point, just to win back who knows how many people actually quit playing the game because their feelings were hurt by stylized character designs. So why don't you focus your energy on the things actually worth getting mad at EA over? The things that are more worth the developers' time addressing: the microtransactions, the lack of features, the bugs. Literally anything that isn't culture warrior drivel, which won't improve the quality of the game by any measure.
if you believe asking for equal representation in the game is an issue. then you are a problem.
simple as that.
sorry i want people not to feel like they are playing sims xtreme skateboarder expansion and want them to feel like the previous games in the series.
i loved the series because they incorporated everyone because they skated. made women main characters. we all loved sammy.
at the end of the day im asking for them to make something focused on skating and doesnt feel agenda based because the game feels that way.
it feels like they are pushing for a more women/children audience when if they made something skaters wanted they would at least break 10k players daily.
You're not asking for representation though, get off your high horse. You're just saying the game is bad because it's so catered towards women. That the game is bad because the characters all look androgynous. That the game is bad because it has too many rainbows. Even though literally NONE of that is true.
You may feel like there aren't enough options for men, and that's fine. But that's not what you've been saying. And your criticisms are not based in reality. You haven't asked for more options that appeal to you in a way that wasn't just throwing other people under the bus as revenge for some imagined agenda.
The game is already focused on skating. There's too much of an emphasis on non-skating things, such as the cash shop, I agree. But replacing facial features and clothing that are "too androgynous" with manly man options will not make the game more skating focused. If anything, you're asking them to make the game more Sims-like by increasing their work on the artstyle and character customization.
it feels like they are pushing for a more women/children audience when if they made something skaters wanted they would at least break 10k players daily.
If you really think that a marginally cartoony artstyle in a game that's already rated T is intended to appeal to children, that's your problem. If you really think that a game where over 2/3 of the clothing options available are "for men", is targeting women, that's again your own problem. Plus this statement also implies that women and children aren't skaters. Something which your previous posts also imply. So why don't you tell me, who's the one here who's actually arguing against representation?
