PS5 game freezes after loading

We have two PS5's and the issue appears on both. We've remove and re-added the game, restored licenses, changed Wi-Fi networks. Very limited options to troubleshoot really but there's no issues with anything else, just Skate Early Access. The game is saved to console storage, last updated 11/12/2025 (yesterday) and shows a version of 1.000.012

When the game launches, it shows the usual splash screen and loading indicator with the flipping skateboard. After that completes, the screen goes dark, but light enough to just about make out some challenges in the background at the top but really hard to read. Image attached. The game is frozen at this point though. You cannot do anything to get it to work.  

My son is going nuts as all his mates can play it but he can't! Any help appreciated.
