"Skate." friend invite broken

I invited my friend to play Skate. with me, and he got the confirmation email on the 11th.  I waited till we were both free, as we played previous Skate titles together.  His library is entirely empty, no "Skate."  Can this be resolved, or he is totally SOL?  Any help/feedback would be great.  He has reinstalled and signed in many times, and nothing has worked.
