Step 1: Emulate Skate 3 Physics

Most of us vets know exactly how to play skate. The problem with this new system is multifaceted.

My first impression was "great graphics, can I do what I used to do?" The answer was a fast no, but like said, it's a lot of things.

First, the push physics. Feels like I'm playing Skate 1 on whatever mode. Molasses is not good for bearings. Secondly, with pushing especially, why does X not control left foot and A control right foot? Everyone should have the option to push mongo. This is a real world tactic that exists IRL. If I'm regular and my right foot is keeping me stable, I should be able to push mongo with X (or alternatively if I'm goofy I should be able to push mongo with A).

^ Another point: There are no handplant variations. They way Skate 3 worked was if you handplant on a QP and both X and A still both worked as kicking a foot out. This is missing from this game. Now there are no tweaks after handplanting.

This was an important feature of Skate 3. I'm not sure if you guys had to fully reconstruct the game and missed this but whatever.

The movement feels scripted AF. Another thing I noticed was nearing a drop-in and initiating the drop, there's no option to flip trick into the drop. The only option is to fire the drop-in straightforward without any option to ollie/spin/revert/do anything other than drop in.

I totally get that we're introducing a cornucopia of new mechanics, with the parkour factoring in, but let's have the option to set the tail, maybe do a shuvit or kickfip into that B.

I'm mainly talking about basic ground mechanics. I don't see the need to take Skate 3's "regular-mode" mechanics and bumping it to a mix between regular and hard mode. The wheels are so slow and the ollies are low. I guess I hoped for the same gravity and speed that Skate 3 provided.

Skate 3 was fantastic!! especially being able to switch between regular and hard. We all eventually gravitate toward hard mode but starting just above that where a majority of obstacles require 8-10 tries to ollie high enough up to is not the video game satisfaction of slapping all of those requirements in 1 shot in around maybe 3-5 tries.

The tutorial is too long for seasoned players. I think if you select "I've played Skate 3 before" you should just be injected into the world and be provided the opportunity to explore the world at your will, without having an entire |\|008 tutorial shoved down your throat. We know how to string tricks. We know.
