It's an impossible task to make normal skating feel smoother without **bleep** happening and glitch skating still easy to do.
pop mechanics were non intrusive to people who prefer "normal skating", they have no reason to even attempt it because anyone playing for "normal skating" would reasonably assume landing into a truck knee would make them fall, all they did was take out a balanced mechanic that wasn't exclusive to a specific setting or stance, they removed the depth those features added for no reason.
