very professional feedback bucket

I don't understand the way you do things but oh well. I don't want to spam the whole board with threads every now and then and doing so is the most inconvenient way possible. Why not use a feedback form of some sorts and a separate form for reporting bugs that will be sent to your jira/helix/whatever you're using.

That's the stuff from my day 1 playthrough, I'll be replying to this once in a while with new stuff.

  • In the 'Movement', 'Eyebrows', 'Eyes', 'Nose' menus, nudging the camera rotation stick causes a 'select' sound to be played
  • Entering the hair menu puts the highlight on the color instead of hair type, kinda weird
  • No 'select' sound on the following:
    • Choosing movement type
    • Choosing hair color
    • Choosing eyebrow type and color
    • Choosing eye type and color
    • Choosing ride stance
  • Triggers for mission-related stuff are active outside them during FTUE. I skipped the 'Pushing and Carving' mission trigger and opted to ride down the hill (which is also weird, it would be better if it was started automatically, some people might miss those small markers) but I was quickly respawned because of the trigger that checks if the Player follows the center of the road during the mission
  • Some dialogues are not skippable and it's very inconsistent during the FTUE
  • UI tips for making tricks do not differentiate between Regular and Goofy stances. In result, I was shown how to do a kickflip when its a heelflip on my stance. I often failed missions during FTUE due to this
  • There is a huge delay on returning back to the marker which results in me clicking it a few times and being teleported the same amount of times which slows my gameplay down unnecessarily. Seems to only happen during FTUE as in San Vansterdam it works perfectly fine
  • New tricks during FTUE are done while stationary. Requiring the Player to return back to the marker is unnecessary cause they can't even leave that area during said objectives
  • You can return to the marker before the dialogue ends and an objective is set. This causes the game to require the player to return to the marker once again which is unnecessary
  • During 'Hunt for the Stunt' I did not sprint before getting to the ledge. This caused my character to no longer move which kinda prompts me to go back to the marker (no feedback from the game on this) but after doing so, I was still unable to move. I can't cancel the mission so I had to restart the game
Overall, very pleasant experience and I'm happy with the progress you've made over the last 2 years since I took part in playtests <3

    • Binding prompts for climbing always show the default button. I had the 'Swap square and X while off-board' setting turned on by default for some reason and thus I was confused why I can't climb over something when a prompt is shown
    • While on the topic of changing settings without my consent, it's annoying that every now and then the game switches my camera to a close one and I have to switch it back
    • It would be cool if bus stops and generally when using a map, you'd have an idea what is the name of the place under the cursor. They are named for a reason
    • Found a bug where I was constantly in the state of 'parkour rolling' (no idea on the naming schemexD). As a result, I had higher than normal FOV, my camera kept on resetting and rotating so it faces down. On every jump, my character would lose control and trying to move when jumping turned them into a human fidget spinner. I got out of it fairly quickly when attempting various parkour inputs but so far no luck in finding repro steps. Update: Occurred once again randomly, now I noticed that when jumping, i automatically get placed into the falling animation (the one when using R1). I'm acoustic and feel the need to spam or do weird stuff with collisions so you'll have to look there. Personally, i'd mark this as a high severity as it obstructs the gameplay a lot. Especially when the end-user won't know what's happening and you should not require them to do so either.
    • I also stumbled upon an issue, where i was rolling in place (even without any input from me) and couldn't get out of it for a while. There seems to a plethora of bugs around landing in parkour and changing in-between various states
    • Various parked cars have weird collisions (sometimes cant even skate them, the board falls under the collider and player is instantly downed). Grinding some of them (mainly the Minecraft suv, yes Minecraft one its just so blocky and unrealistic) causes unexpected behavior, on the first try it seems to work fine but when you want to exit the grind by doing some trick, you get launched into the air
    • I very much don't like how the store is done. Firstly, it's sad that it's just a UI and there is no actual interior with some preview available. Why introduce a location with a marker when there is no difference to using the menu? Secondly, why the only way of obtaining items for in-game currency is through lootboxes? Through all the years spent on playing and developing games, I've never seen such a dumb idea. I understand that the title is supposed to be F2P so you need a way to constantly monetize the game to keep the servers running but please for god's sake, it's one of the worst things I've seen. Thirdly, pricing of the premium items. I'm okay with them being in the game as like I said, you kinda need it (and so EA does but I'm not even gonna start ranting on this one). There are more places on earth than just the US. Some are more wealthy, some less. But 5 bucks for a pair of casual glasses or an ugly beanie? It's outrageous. Turn down the prices or make items more interesting. for example, you can make shaders for these so that the art is animated on them, hell do a **bleep** trail vfx on some of the boards. sky is the limit bois. so far American Wasteland had better customization options lol. y'all a bunch of experienced people so you should figure it out easily.
    • Going into the ramp when pushing sometimes slows down the player. Sometimes it also launches them into the air
    • For some reason parties don't work, we can't do them with friends. Later on it started working for some reason. Yes we've had each other as friends in the EA App and I've even set the party join option to 'Everyone'. Randomly started working on it's own later during gameplay.
    • I encountered a critical issue when I withdrew from a Skate Jam. My character froze in an animation and I was unable to move afterwards. I had to restart the game to continue
    • Another critical issue was encountered when we ended a skate jam. Pressing a confirm button on a controller did not in fact confirm anything. I tried using a mouse which also did not do anything and I was softlocked on the end screen. This issue has occurred for me and my friends. Later when we created skate jams, we always confirmed by using a mouse which later worked flawlessly
    • Exporing a replay causes a sort of like softlock state. There is no indicator that the game is doing anything behind the scene. I almost closed it due to that fact
    • Score in the ending screen of a skate jam is black on dark blue which makes it unreadable. Also the spacing does not help with readability
    • It would be nice if we'd have an option to increase/decrease skate jam's radius. Some spots require more space like 'Community Hub' (or whatever its name is, i forgot already)
    • There's sooo many issues with parties. Joining a party does not always change the session. Me and my friends had issues for over an hour with this until I found out that I have to join and leave the party repeatedly in hopes of joining my friend's session
    • Sometimes not all party members have markers (coloured nickname and a UI that persists with their location during freeroam, I can see them on the map just not when cruising through the city)
    • Dropping onto ramps is sooooooooooooooooo bad. Like really bad, I usually keep on falling flat onto the surface unless I drop from like a meter above
    • Furthermore, I kept on bouncing off the ramps when driving onto them. Lots of collision issues there
It's hard to make through gaps as it's hard to keep up the speed when riding. I feel like not much of velocity is added to the character controller when descending from a small ramp
    • I don't know where servers are hosted and I guess its the US. So far we've had no issues with connection. No disconnects, no rubberbanding or any weird behavior. Great work <3
    • To continue the positive vibes, skate jams are SOO good. People kept on joining and we had hella fun
    • It was also fun to observe how players gathered around us when we found some nasty spots to skate. Like there was some triceratops or whatever and we kept on trying to skate down it onto it's tail and then do a trick. People just kept teleporting to us and trying it out together with us
    • The game needs a classic SKATE minigame to play with friends. Like its a staple of the sport

Day 2 was great once my friends joined. Day 1 was super nice but cruising with your homies, gathering thus people around to make sick stuff was extremely satisfying
