Why did we get a Vans slip-on costume before the actual shoe

I find it strange that there are generic slip-ons in the game with the only shoe brand being Vans and not having their slip-on as a cosmetic. There are so many colour ways for the checkered slip-on that would be great to have in the game. And getting the costume first is not only bizarre, it’s such a tease.
