Camera control while on skate

Hi! First of all, I love the new Skate, as long as i have been trying it out i genuinely feel like a kid with a skate board, i love the free exploration and everything. However, one issue I’ve noticed is that while skating, the right stick is entirely dedicated to tricks, leaving no direct control over the camera. This can make it difficult to adjust the view mid-ride or when setting up for a trick.

A possible solution would be to introduce an R2 (the triggers in console controls) modifier:

When R2 is NOT pressed, the right stick controls the camera.

When R2 IS pressed, the right stick switches to trick input mode.

This would keep the intuitive flick controls, while letting players dynamically adjust the camera during lines or exploration.

It’s a small change that could make the gameplay feel even smoother and more natural. Thanks for the hard work — this game already feels like something special for me

Thanks for sharing this, and apologies for the very late reply here.

Really appreciate the kind words about the game feeling special to you. The camera/trick input balance is a solid callout, especially when trying to line something up mid-ride or while exploring. The R2 modifier suggestion is an interesting idea, though with R2 already being used for grabs, that exact setup may not be the best fit.

That said, the broader feedback around wanting more camera control while skating makes a lot of sense, and we’ll make sure it gets passed along to the team. Appreciate you taking the time to write this feedback!
