A beautiful game ruined by stupidity, careless and non sensical decisions

Today I would like to reflect and possibly rant on a few things about the last major content update and also the manner that this game has ended. These are things that are hard for me to overlook even to this day. I will say right off the bat that this game ended in a disgraced state, and I say this not because I think we needed more updates after Scarif, no, but because of the outright imbecility and inconsistency coming from the dev team just when this game needed the best treatment. Here’s what I mean, that last content update was supposed to be about the age of the rebellion, cool, but what do we get? Not a whole lot of Rebel or Imperial related content. Instead Rey gets another skin?! What? Kylo Ren and the Emperor also get some crappy ROS skins, again nothing to do with the theme of the update, and most of the original trilogy characters are neglected once again in their own era. How more insulting can that be? Wouldn’t any rational person think that maybe now is the perfect time for a new Vader skin, or the highly requested Bespin Luke?, or new rebel vehicles and reinforcements? Sorry but ewoks doesn’t cut it. They never left Endor. Period. It’s lazy and it’s bad. Also what have they done with the Empire now? They couldn’t figure out anything else so now they’re selling us snow troopers as skins? Way to make a beautiful game look stupid. Sorry but this is just a brutal way to end your game, this was supposed to be the last update and yet felt like the most underwhelming and frustrating. They rushed this game in the end that they couldn’t even bother to make a satisfying last update, just like they rushed it at the start because….EA wanted another battlefield game and it was still bad. It’s like poetry it rhymes, as the saying goes.

Developers need to have a financial return to invest in games in the long term. A game like this needs servers and lots of employees. Look at games like LOL, cs go, or even TF2 (similar to bf2). If players prefer not to pay to keep having updates, well, it's their decision. We have the game we asked for.

  • I've been on BF2 w/ PS4 since day one when they had those expensive crates for 3 days. I remember spending $500 on it just to have all my fav characters max out since the beginning. I played also BF1 from 2015 on PS4.

My 2 cents here, it was impossible for Dice/EA to please all such diverse starwars player base.DICE said many times, Galactic Assault and Supremacy game modes were their priority over HvV game mode which was a mistake. Here's all mistakes DICE/EA made after release:

    - Crates system almost doomed the game right from the very beginning.

    - Too many nerfs almost on a 2-week/monthly basis, DICE was so concern about hard core BF2 player base it was constantly nerfing light side shooters and making Dark Side sabers stronger. Dark Side Toxic Player base was so eager to have a much more powerful dark side saber line up that they keep complaining and whining at official EA forums when something was not up to their liking. Remember how many nerfs Light Side heroes received? remember how 3 roll up were reduced to just 2 with the sole exception of Han Solo.

    - Anakin was highly unpopular among Dark Side players, probably because it was released too late, so many nerfs for Anakin made him almost useless without proper team support. Look at the other side, Vader was a machine on its own and nobody complained about that because of its huge popularity and kylo also was very popular.

    - Boba fett was made unbelievable powerful and almost impossible to counter without having a high ranked 4 player team as light side, and even when 2 equally skilled teams face off on HvV, Dark side will win 9 out of 10.

    - Don't know the reason why they made Yoda so weak, so defensive and so limited and so boring. Same for Obi-wan, not fun to use at all.Leia Had a great rework done based on multiple requests from LS players which were nicely accomplish by DICE.

    - No private HvV mode despite thousands of requests to have that done.

    - Light Side heroes can still put a fight to DS villains to a certain level but requires them to stick all together and notice how much harder are to use compare to DS villains.

You can easily spot my theory by seeing a low/medium skill palpatine ending with 27 eliminations in HvV and then after switching to LS in HvV ending with just 3 eliminations playing with exactly same players on their team and same for the opposite team as well.

    - DICE/EA was suppose to have different levels for each one of the characters based on the game mode it was selected to play with. That was DICE main flaw in my humble opinion because for whatever was useful on HvV not necessary was going to be effective on Supremacy or Galactic Assault game modes.

We still play the game regularly and it's very common these days to find fullt skilled teams that will not make the game enjoyable for non-hardcore players specially in HvV game mode.
