And if you listen to the announcers throughout the game, they can alert you when an enemy is approaching - although sometimes a bit too late to react, which isn't very funny...
Also, if you're playing on an inside map - you can actually hear the boots and footfalls of soldiers approaching - I can usually only hear that when I'm using headphones
- 6 years ago@grrr33nflash It’s so fun to play the prey when someone is chasing you. I had a guy chase me but I heard his footsteps and saw him on the radar. As I was walking I pulled out vanguard, jumped, whipped around a got him

You can go your own way. Too many matches I’ve played have turned into endless hallway chokes. There is generally always another path. Sneak around and go for ThE MAstEr FlAnK. All joking aside, sneak around and don’t be the person who rushes forward and dies immediately thinking they can be the hero of the match.
- 6 years ago@Commander_Ney0 You can go your own waaaaaaayy (go your own waaay-ay-ay)
To contribute here, apart from flanking you can also be the guy that runs in there if there’s enough cover and stuff. This worked in a match for me as an Imperial on Yavin - I planted the bombs on 2 turbo lasers, helped capture both the outpost and camp, completed one and did a bit of another of the door controls, and helped attack the final phase. Bit of a flex, but hope it helps new players

- 6 years agoI know it's a less popular mode, but I find that using headphones helps tremendously when playing as a Stormtrooper in Ewok Hunt. Like @grrr33nflash said, with a pair of headphones on, you can actually use the sound effects to locate where attackers are coming from before you actually engage them. The 3D audio in this game works really well.
- 6 years ago@DrunkyMacGreed It’s also pretty immersive as well, like you feel like you are in a forest.

Remember to check your scanner, too. It’s amazing how few people check it for heroes, and infiltration is amazing for scouting as well as the binoculars.

Don’t rush in with a hero thinking your invincible or using heroes in the wrong way. Some heroes are best played cautiously or smartly like Lando or Iden Versio

@XxDeepDiveJrxXI'd say that you need to play cautiously with pretty much every hero in this game, because you know, commando droids, rocket troopers etc. that seem to only exist to go after you all the time once you spawn as hero.
Especially saber users are more lor less completey dependant from their abilities as they lack a ranged weapon.
Some saber heroes can be played more dynamically though like Yoda and Luke because heir abilties are all good to fight in infantry modes while with other heroes you basically need to wait everytime that a certain ability refreshes, like Anakin's magnet.
So depending from the exact hero, it's often better to wait behind cover until the abilities have cooled down before advancing to the next enemies.

Map knowledge is very important, if you are new then feel free to explore the map in coop or GA to find flanking routes choke points etc.
