Battlefront 2 crashing & freezing when joining a server or single player - PC

I've found a bug in-side Battlefront 2 - PC that hasn't been fixed or wont ever be  "that causes unexpected freezing and prompt crashing with no warning message"

when playing this game please make sure virtual memory / page file is turned on, to do this head on over to the start button and right click - press system - advanced system settings - under performance press "settings..."

you should see a performance options box, press change "advanced" then "change"

if under paging file size (MB) you see none, no numbers or system managed, then untick "automatically manage paging file size for all drive" under c:/ or your system drive "where the windows" folder is, press on it, should show a blue line, then press "system managed size" then press "set" and ok. a reboot will be needed for the changes to take full effect

if the above doesn't work try disabling antivirus and disabling Microsoft office as these are known programs to interfere

if you found this answer and question helpful please press the xp button

  • my system specs are as follows :

    Processor AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor, 4200 Mhz, 12 Core(s), 24 Logical Processor(s)

BaseBoard Product ROG CROSSHAIR VIII HERO (WI-FI)

    BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 3003, 04/12/2020

Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB 3600mhz

Name NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6GB

    driver version 461.09

    Windows 10 Pro 64-bit h2

the above fixed my issue, if virtual memory / page file is off i would get crashing & freezing with no error message, issue went away with paging on

  • You're a legend when I formatted my Hard disk to have games on it I had to untick the "system managed size" for both my ssd and hdd ever since then I runned into crashes without this post I would have quit the game already

  • HDR also causes crashes “this game is very flaky”

cyberpunk is another game that is flaky, you wouldn’t expect this kind of finish from a game that’s been out well over a year and is designed by EA / Dice
