Battlefront 2 for PS4: Split screen Arcade mode and points

Good morning!

My son and I have been so incredibly excited for the release of Battlefront 2 and after playing last night we have not been disapointed!! We do have a question however...

When playing int he arcade mode with 2 player split screen how do you both log in on the PS4 so that each persoan obtains their respective points? Is this possible? 

I was the primary individual logged in and I could send him a friend request but we were unable to accept it if he isn't the primary player and all of his points were going toward "guest points".

Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated!!
