Oh, man. I had that happen a couple years back. It's a drag. There was nothing I could do but reset everything. I never did find out exactly what caused it.
Although you don't say what platform you are on, you could try finding old copies of your locally stored progress files and restoring. For me it was just easier to reconfigure everything.
