I guess the reason is Consoles are set up for multiple Controllers and normally used at the TV,
PCs are set up with one Controller (Mouse/ Keyboard) and on a Desk, so most people would use one Console with two or more players but one PC for every Player.

there are 2 approaches in this problem .1st approach is the economical and 2nd is the technical approach
- the technical approach is that the PC platform is ... Windows from Microsoft
- the economical approach is that Microsoft creates Windows and XBOX ONE
i think the answer why it is obvious and it is not the technical problem 🙂
There are lots of other games with split screen on PC. There's no technical nor economic reasons for not adding this feature to Battlefront II. This is not a Microsoft game. Anyway, I would like to ear an answer from EA/DICE itself about this.
If there will be split-screen on PC a will buy it, if not ... let's say i will not buy defective product.

Hey guys,
as seen in the latest trailer, there is split screen for consoles, but not for PC. As @Ahrngrim mentioned, consoles are more frequently used and set up for coop play compared to PCs. Let's see what the Beta brings - feedback is collected and forwarded on a regular basis, so make sure to leave constructive feedback if you should play the beta.
While it is true that splitscreen in consoles is more intuitive, from a technical point of view PC is more than capable of handling this mode, so why gimp our version of the game?

Now-a-days they can't expect that to be the case.
More and more people are using bigger monitors to play games on, and even PC players (MAY) use an XBOX controller for some games.
There are wireless mice and keyboards, and even products that allow you to take it (to the couch) and use those devices in front of the big screen.
SO. They should just ENABLE this option, since it's already there in the first place. - Darkness93_yt8 years agoRising Traveler
Personally I can choose to play on my projector from my PC, and I have three Xbox controllers connected to the Wireless Xbox receiver. No reason why splitscreen shouldn't be included on the PC.. we can utilise big monitors and controllers just as easily!

Cause:
2 players on a couch playing SW Battleftont 2 = $
BUT 2 players playing from each respective homes = $ X2
Playing video games is not any more about having fun but spending money.
May the Pay to win be with you.
I have a 45 inch 4K HDR TV attached to my PC and I also use xbox controllers for gaming. I need a PC for work and I also want gaming. This works out more economical and more powerful than having a PC for work and an xbox one for games. Now that I have forked out for this great gaming rig I am petty miffed that EA/DICE have skimped on the PC version of the game. I used to work as a games developer and I can tell rght now there is no technical or economical reason for this as all the code sits in to of Direct X and Windows for both PC and xbox. I would like an explanation. I hace pre-ordered and am already dissapointed as in addition to this unexplainable omision, there is also no single player star fighter mode. Whats up with that, are DICE programmers incapable of coding AI or something?
