Hello, I have been struggling with this problem for a while now and kinda gave up on it. But now i decided to take up the problem one more time.
First of all, i did manage to launch the game using this method. Without it, it did not work.
What i did was start from scratch. Firstly I deleted the ea app and battlefront 2.
Then when i tried launching it fresh, same result. So what i did was navigate to the folder where battlefront is installed. You can find this folder by going to the ea app, then find the game, manage, then properties, there you should see the folder and you can press browse to access the folder.
From there select the starwarsbattlefrontii.exe, right click and choose properties, then compatability. Now the part that worked for me:
Turn on the option for " Run this program as administrator ", this worked for me. you will then be promted when you start the game to run it with elevated privelages, press ok.
Hello again, i have been trying to get FrostyModManager to launch with mods again.
First of all, i did manage to launch the game with mods using this method.
These are the steps i took:
What I deleted
- Deleted the ModData folder ( Ea Games\STAR WARS Battlefront II )
- Deleted the Caches folder inside the FrostyModManager folder
- Deleted the LaunchPlatformPlugin.dll
What i downloaded
- Download the latest release for https://github.com/Dyvinia/DatapathFixPlugin , DatapathFixPlugin
What i changed / added
- Go to the Plugins folder inside of the FrostyModManager folder, add the files from the downloaded DatapathFixPlugin folder
Select FrostyModManager.exe, right click and choose properties, then compatability. Turn on the option for " Run this program as administrator "
Start FrostyModManager. To confirm the DatapathFixPlugin has been applied go to Tools, Options and you should see the DatapathFix Options as a tab, make sure this is enabled
Put the mods in the FrostyModManager\Mods\starwarsbattlefrontii folder. Try launching Frosty with mods applied now.
Possible problems that could occur but im not really sure if it affects this. Problems could be:
- If using vortex manager, it creates .vortex_backup files if you add these as well as your mods it may not work
- If it says you do not own this game, close the EA app completely, not just by pressing the X button in the top right corner, close it from Task manager or choose the ^ ( up arrow ) down at the taskbar to the right. Then right-click the EA icon and choose Exit. You might get the message again, press ok and wait a bit, it may appear after a short while.
