Spoiler

Also when I played multiplayer mode on the same day the game crashed after about 40 minutes of playtime. I set all my graphical settings to low and resolution to 50% of 1080p. Even then it says my GPU is using 90% capacity at 75C temperature. I have never had this issue with any other game I own on PC.

If I got 1 dollar from every comment on this forum that contains the following line (or something similar) I'd be a very rich person: This is a AAA title that's only been out for a few years. Why does this bug still exist?

And I'm not considering the comments from people that have no reason to say that, only those that experienced some glaring or stupid issue with the game.

I've been here since 2017 and started bughunting in 2018. Through the entire life of this game the BUGs were the spotlight. So many BUGs of so many natures. I could lose hours describing the experience of having to deal with them and reporting them here.

Instead let's see if there's something else you can do. Devs won't ever fix this, so we can't wait for them to do anything. EA may help you by reaching EA help directly but you already did that, so they didn't fix your issue. The best i can do is think outside the box because if you did everything you could to solve the issue with your GPU, then maybe it's not the GPU itself, but the game doing something funky that its consequence is visible by how much strain your GPU has to handle, and the frequent crashes.

Ok, so, do you experience these crashes in any other mode or only in the Campaign? I know you said you did experience this after 40 mins in multiplayer, but that could have been for another reason. But, if you keep experiencing this in other modes, it's good to know. Also, does the crash always behave the same? If it does, how exactly does it happen? In the video you shared it's a screenfreeze, a hardlock, but by your description I imagine your screen just goes black and then your PC reboots, is it like that?

If you have DX12 mode turned on, turn it off. I know it may have nothing to do with this, but if you do have DX12 mode on maybe it's all its fault. Battlefront II and DX12 don't go well with each other.

Also, considering it seems to be an issue that forces your PC to shut itself down due to unusually high strain, maybe it is having memory allocation issues? TBH I have no idea if VRAM uses Paging, but if it does, and you have that disabled, that could explain the crashes. Unfortunately I can't guide you here as I never messed with this. I think you can find something on google about VRAM Paging.

This is indeed very weird. My GPU is a GeForce 940 MX, which means it's too weak to run this game. Nevertheless, I can play in 720p with all graphical settings on low with barely any issues. Also, I never get anywhere near 90% usage on my GPU, as despite it being weak, it does have 4 GB to use (a considerable value for a weak GPU).

Your GPU OTOH is suitable for this game, it shouldn't behave like that, and definitely not get anywhere near 90% usage if you're with all graphic settings on low.

Unfortunately I don't have anything to suggest aside from generic suggestions like being sure your GPU drivers are updated, and maybe reinstalling them to check if it makes any difference.

Nevertheless, I think this report is more suitable in the Technical Difficulties section here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/bd-p/star-wars-battlefront-ii-tech-issues-en

I tried all the fixes on the forum you linked me to and it has made no difference. I believe this is a genuine bug with the game as numerous people over the internet are complaining about the same issue. This video is proof of that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbCq_e6kOYg

I've play a lot of different games on my gaming PC and no other game has ever crashed on me. The fact the crashes happen so soon and are regular is disturbing. Someone with connections to DICE needs to contact them about this immediately to iron this bug out. This is a AAA title that's only been out for a few years. Why does this bug still exist?

I've made a lot of fixes but I think the one that has finally worked for me has been checking the box to reinstall all of my NVIDIA graphics drivers through GeForce Experience when an update is released. Strange I've never had to do this with any other game before. But I can now play campaign and multiplayer in full 1080p with any major crashes. I only had a small crash were I had to leave a game but otherwise I think this is solved. Thanks for your help RogueZeroRendar.

Answering your question about my past issues:

The video I shared was just to prove other people were experiencing crashes. In multiplayer the crash in the video did happen to me in the past once where the screen froze. I was able to Alt Tab out of the game but all the programs on my PC had frozen and I couldn’t do anything so I had to reboot.

The rest of the crashes were as I described were the screen goes black and the PC reboots.

Campaign was the worst offender for crashes as it only took 10 minutes. I have never played on DX12. I always use DX11 so that wasn’t the issue.
