I validated the game files and ran it as an administrator, idk which one worked but I got it to connect!
I've had this problem since around when the Epic Games listing happened. Ever since the servers went down and had to be upgraded to handle the new capacity (they were crashing) this issue has happened. This seems to be a definite technical issue on EA/DICE's end.
My solution so far is I simply click OK on the error popup and hit CONNECT again. Usually takes 1–5 retries, but it eventually connects from what I've seen.
This is an unfortunate error a lot of players are getting and I can easily see this severely diminishing the long-term population of the game, as players that come back or want to hop on might think the servers are completely down or may think they simply can't play the game anymore. It's not reasonable to expect players to attempt to retry 5+ times to actually connect to the game coordinator servers and go online. Most will give up the first try and assume the error is true, when it's clearly not.
