Im still stuck at this story mission. Its definately not the keys because the game registers the pushing of them. The game just wont use the item assigned to the key.
You no fix, me keep bump.
Still stuck.
Un-freaking-believable. Not just the waiting time to get a bug fixed from a previous game that was copied into this one. But also the alternative method to get past the walkers in this blasted mission. The answer is: GRENADES!
Took me a little more over 2 minutes to blast each walker with them. The "commander, the walkers" was still going on until I was in the air again but the mission is done now.

I have exactly the same problem as you. Ability 4 will register the PC button (number 2) being pushed, but no action follows.Unfortunately your solution cannot work for me, as for some reasons I have no grenades to equip (just the thermal detonator or disruptor).
So I am stuck on Jakku it seems ...
