Personally, I hope it takes a few days at most 😃
One of the responses from @EAHelp:
"I don't have an exact estimate but since this happened going into the weekend, that likely added some delays in getting it fixed. But now that we're back into the work week, this is likely going to be fixed in the coming days. I don't want to make a guess but it's being treated as a priority & it's with the Game Team for review. With a little bit of luck, we'll have this fixed soon."
I have the same problem ! Can't run the game anymore from Steam after linking Epic with Origin.
All isses described here are the same for me. I really hate the Epic store. What they did to us gamers. Just problems.

From EAHelp:
Hey there, thanks for reaching out about Star Wars Battlefront II. There is currently a known issue which our games are investigating regarding issues with Steam users being unable to play the game through Steam after linking an Epic account up. We don't have a time frame at the moment but hopefully will have an update soon. -Dee

@DreamCatchXDNope, I'm waiting for EA to fix it. I don't wanna lose my Epic copy.
Hey man, please do update us when they fix it, i'm in the same mess, got the free copy on Epic and i cannot launch it on steam now. What a hot mess.. The activation code cannot be found so yeah, how the heck should we start it on steam? :/
@cybersteel014 it did work, I can play on Steam no problemo
for anyone who ONLY has Battlefront linked between Orgin and Epic games here is a solution that has worked by me, I hope it also works for you:
BEFORE YOU START TO FOLLOW THE STEPS FIRST READ EVERYTHING
1. uninstall Battlefront on Steam
2. uninstall the Orgin app from your PC
3. get a refund on the Epic Games Store (so you don't own the game on epic anymore, and I'm also not sure if you may be able to skip this step, but if you can still get a refund just do it. To refund it, simply contact Epic Games on their help by pressing the "contact us" button and ask them for a refund. Yet you are only able to do it if the purchase is not more than 14 days and you haven't played the game for more than 2 hours.) here's a link to contact Epic:
https://www.epicgames.com/help/en-US/search?page=1&query=refund
4. after you got the refund make sure that the game doesn't show up in the Epic Games Launcher library, if that's the case then go to the next step, if not ask Epic to help you (their support team is really kind and ask for just deleting the game from your account)
5. now you can contact EA Help, in the direct conversation you should just tell them about the same as what I told them (screenshots below), and here's the link to contact EA:
https://help.ea.com/de/contact-us/
6. after EA hopefully has completely unlinked your Epic account from Orgin, you can start to download your Steam Battlefront
7. if you have gone through all those steps and your download has finished and you also installed Orgin again, now the game should work
[DISCLAIMER] It has worked in my case, but it doesn't mean that it will in yours, so I don't want to be blamed for your lost time if it doesn't. But hopefully it will.
good luck
- @Stan_Java I tried this and no luck but totally agree with it being personal for everyone for if it works. My problem is my epic isn't even linked with my Origin but still shows that the game is the epic store version. I asked EA to remove it but they cant remove games from your library "apparently"
