that's also a good point, but it also should not aliterate the game, like lol xd why shouldn't I have the option to own a game on two Platforms if I want to?
@smugglyosa but I think the problem seems to be on Epics side since it affects not only steam Versions but also Orgin ones, like Epic should not be able to Take over game files from other platforms
- @grynn oh, well if you are ea play user you deserve claim and play it on epic game, but for anyone who already bought the single copy of the game through steam, why the hell you link it with your epic claimed games?? beside all of this you know this game is fragile, i mean there will be chance for issue to be persist.
@decimal4000The problem is Epic games links is on its own after you "buy" it
And buying games just to have in your library is very common, especially on epic when they give stuff away.
Agreed I did not install on epic. It found my Origin files on a 3rd HD so it looked for it. It downgraded my version is what gets me. I won't buy EA games until this is fixed. On the Epic side there is no option to do anything either. No uninstall or deactivate. A Mess!
- @smugglyosa You can get rid of the game when you demand a Refund, yet it also does not help since it stays in the library somehow
@Stan_Javawell, have you tried any of possible solution?? like the basic things restart your pc,/laptop, or uninstalling epic games also the origin? clean install with no leftover origin data
I have tried all the solutions offered out in this thread. And nothing works. After speaking to someone from EA they have said its a problem they know about and are currently working with Steam to resolve.
So let the waiting game begin

People should understard that this is not something that can be fixed by uninstalling that, reinstalling this, etc. We need to wait for EA and/or Steam to resolve this.
@Leebo1705 @grynn NOOOOOO THAT'S NOT THE ONLY PROBLEM
The problem lies not only between Steam and EA, Epic Games Launcher is the one that somehow destroys the other game files. It's obviously an Epic problem.
@decimal4000 There is no solution for now
- @Stan_Java That might be so but this thread was mainly to outline the problem with you now needing an activation key to run the steam version because Epic has brute forced and taken over the original game files. So yes whilst it is an Epic problem that they shouldn't be able to just take games, its also EA who need to somehow get people an activation code so they can relink their Steam versions. Hopefully this gets fixed for everyone 🙂
