I am experiencing this issue as well.
Sometimes I can play for hours without a single crash.
But sometimes the game just crashes randomly to desktop without any error message.
Event viewer logs show that: "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
My rig is: Ryzen 1600, Geforce 750 ti 2gb, 16GB RAM. All drivers are up to date.

For your error message your Nvidia drivers are crashing I do recommend that you do a complete reinstall of your GPU drivers.
Hey @DokkenFrosst if the game is crashing to desktop it have nothing to with servers or network. It means something is going wrong some ware on the PC with the game. start with clean update with your GPU drivers.
/AticEA_Atic, C000005 crash is a problem with the game.
This game has never played well but now just crashes at match loading constantly. The lag is so bad when I get in a match I can hardly play. my internet connection is fine and all other games run fine. BF2 runs my CPU up to 90%...
