Crashing to Desktop

I bought the game (Battlefront 2) today, installed and attempted to play it.

I haven't even been able to make it past the first intro campaign mission. WTH

First off, the game stutters terribly and drops from 100+- FPS to 20 erratically.

When the game doesn't stutter and freeze, it simply crashes to desktop, randomly and consistently.

Times it crashed:

1. Game boots(see title screen) then crashes before menu

2. PLay SP or MP and crashes at random places, never the same, but varies from 10sec to 3 mins before crashing.

3. If I open the game and leave it alone on Menu, or in a SP game, or in a MP game it just crashes.

This is just leaving the game alone and it still crashes. NO errors nothing.

CPU: 990x

GTX 970 3gb

8gb ram

Windows 10 Pro

I've tried everything, ever tip, trick, hint, to get this game crashing and stuttering resolved, and nothing. It's ridiculous that after all this time the game is still so bad. I bought this on a discount on Origin, but it's not even worth $5 at this point. If I can't get this fixed, I'll just have to get my refund and avoid this garbage in the future.

Game crashed again within 10min. I have a GTX 1080 Gainward GLH, Win10 64bit, Ryzen 1600x, normally I play in 4k, but the game is even crashing with V-Sync in 1920x1080. The hardware is not overclocked. The crashes startet with patch 2.0. Patch 2.01 made them occur more often.
Driver v391.35 and DirectX11

What happened to Battlfront 2 after the last upgrade, I can only play Blast if I start playing other boards after a few seconds play, game crash and return to the desktop. It was not until the last update 2.01. Please help and advise

For me it (Patch 2.01) caused a problem. Everytime I try to launch the game it loads, and starts optimising shaders. But then it stops, around 55-60 % through (almost every time, sometimes before that, and occasionally after it), freezes for a few seconds, then shuts down to desktop. I did not have any problems playing this morning, apart from the fact that my computer takes forever to optimise the shaders on new maps.

I know my computer isn't the best for Battlefront 2, but I have been playing pretty much since launch with just some lag a need to lower the graphics a lot. I've tried disabling Dx12, but then it doesn't even start optimising shaders and then just stops loading.

This update did nothing. Still cant play since 1.2 release: launching exe, game window opens for 5-7 sec and then client just crashing without any errors.

I was having the random crash to desktop issue. I tried a clean install of  Windows 7 followed by a clean install of Windows 10 but the issue remained. If I try to run the game in full screen or border less windowed modes it will randomly crash. If I run the game in windowed mode it seems to have stopped the issue. While playing, I occasionally hear the Windows 10 chime  and wonder if something in my hardware setup is not playing nice with the game.( Keyboard, mouse, etc).  I guess the main thing is I wanted to share with other players whats working for me. Hopefully this might help someone.
