8 years agoThis is total conjecture and is probably totally wrong, but maybe this is happening:
1. You craft a star card from scratch with credits. This card is added to your collection. You continue to get credits for duplicates as normal.
2. Days, weeks, or months later (depending on the RNG gods) you get a duplicate of the card you created from scratch. Because it is the first time you have received it in a crate, due to a bug, it is also added to your collection erroneously.
3. Now your collection is bugged, and you no longer get credits for duplicates. Instead, they continue to be added to your collection.
This would account for why it seems almost random when it starts, and why some people who have created cards from scratch have the bug while others do not.
If anyone is reading this thread and has the bug without crafting a star card from scratch, chime in. I would be curious to know.

I have this problem and actually didn't know I could create my own Star Card for events and or for myself until I read this post.
Long story short, I don't fit your hypothesis.
