I am not sure if I should just be laughing out loud or burn the game to hell... A game that I have shelved weeks ago even if I still let my son playing with my account from time to time.
Anyway, it is not like it is happening exactly what I said multiple times in various messages here: EA is absolutely not working on the issue at all. This is just a massive persistent lie, reiterated in many occasions by multiple EA representatives and also relayed by EA fanatics trying to protect their beloved company.
I always personally found very weird (and embarrassing to say the least) as a professional programmer myself with 30+ years of experience that EA developers could not nail down a bug like the duplicate cards one. I know things can get tricky to fix sometimes but certainly not up to the point where it takes 120+ days for a complete team of what... 100+ people ?
The reason for those multiple lies is now even more obvious than ever and confirms what I always thought:
Because of the micro transaction commercial disaster, they decided months ago they had to revamp the entire progression system, trying to save the game and their reputation. Of course, because they were going to change the progression system ,what would they bother trying to fix an existing system that would be replaced very soon anyway ? That would be an unnecessary cost of time and money... But more importantly, that micro transaction disaster prevented thousands if not millions of people from buying the game because of the terrible reviews it got from everywhere in the world.
So, what do you think EA is trying to do here with their new progression system ? Help the existing customers ? Wrong.
They are trying to get the people who did not buy the game to buy it, to compensate the lost of profit caused by the miserable micro transaction failure. They are trying to get the press and reviews back on track so their reputation could remain intact and they could gather more money from new innocent victims who will be swallowing the fresh new lie.
But even if I had been suspecting the above for weeks now, I always kept inside me that naive hope that EA would fix the duplicate card bug and simply care about their existing clients who put them where they are today. It is just like that "retroactive credit" thing. I never believed it and now that it may happen, it sounds like it will be completely useless as you can't use the credits for enhancing the cards. Isn't that an insanely brilliant idea ? I am wondering how many meetings EA people had to decide that. But think even further: in between, they raised the amount of credits that you could get from duplicate cards for the people who don't have the bug yet. Why would you do that ? Clue: answer is in one of my previous messages...
I had an email from an EA police (sarcasm) representative recently asking me to be respectful in the forums. I think that respect is something you own. It is not something that comes by essence and I could have taken the criticism if the company for which that employee is working was not itself the most disrespectful entity that I know.
EA has no idea what respect means, at any level. EA simply hide their recurring lies behind sweet and sympathetic sentences from EA representatives to make us believe that they care. I personally find this being way more devious and disrespectful that any sort of rude language.
And to finally quote a character that I really enjoy (warning: PG-13 second degree sarcasm):
"And thus I [EA] clothe my naked villainy with old odd ends stolen from holy writ and seem a saint when most I play the devil" (V).
Your words are music to all of us trapped in this maze.
I have been silent for a long time in the hope that this situation would be solved, but as we can see this company doesnt have the least respect for its customers.
Shame on you EA, bunch of rats!
