This issue exists to this day - 23/01/2020. I have a new build. i9 9900K. Maximus XI Hero mobo. 16GB RAM. 2070 Super. Everything else I game plays like a dream - Battlefield 1 - glorious, in fact. Battlefield 4. Destiny. The Witcher. Warframe. Tomb Raider. Getting bleeding-edge results in tests. Download Battlefront 2 and the graphics are shot AF! At one point, I had dynamic res on and I was getting av. 32FPS with Medium settings on! I've been looking to mod the game, and there are mods out there, but they're dodgy, don't always work, are tricky to install with few instructions, and people pay HOW MUCH for this game?? For heaven's sake EA! And how long does it take to fix this issue, or simply make a clear recommendation to users NOT to use DX12?? I was afraid my card was broken at one point. I can't play the game with DX12 at all. It crashes the moment the dungeon has been loaded and gaming commences. Turn DX12 off and it's fine, apart from the fact you have to have dynamic resolution off. And the frame rates at Ultra settings are terrible. Unless I'm over-estimating my PC's capabilities, I should be able to play the game on ultra settings at well over 60 fps, and that's simply not the case. This game needs a serious overhaul, even though it is great.
Hey, I was having this problem, it might just be a fluke but I turned all settings down to low, turned vsync off and ran the game in windowed mode but left dx12 on, it loaded into a game and I then turned all settings to ultra, no crash and then I quit and started a new game and it loaded fine after that.
I have the same problem in October 2021. I used to run the game without problems but now for some reason it crashes.
In the boot options file:
"C:\Users\%NAME%\OneDrive\Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II\settings"
I have changed
"GstRender.EnableDx12 1"
to "GstRender.EnableDx12 0"
The game after this change works, but graphics are poor, I only get 60fps with an RTX3090 at 1440p and the graphics card works at higher temperatures
This worked for me, thank you! Didn't mess around with V-Sync but resetting the Video settings as per the post fixed my game. Now running @ Ultra settings with DX12, mind you FPS is kinda hit and miss so far.
