Heroes: Strongly disagree, multiplayer should reward skill. That random drop was the worst mechanic in the first game, for one, people could just camp it out. But what's worse is when totally bad players take the hero role, get destroyed in a minute, then the whole team has to wait for another drop for a long time.
Also, in BF2, you have to be pretty damn bad if you can't get enough BP for a hero/hero ship during a whole match. It is highly unlikely that anyone can stay alive for a whole match as a hero, and even if they do, there are two slots, and it even extends to four in the final phase. This was their best decision, and the game actually rewards playing the objective and teamplay (though that's ironic since the squad system is a useless mess). Also, you can always swap in a bounty hunter card if you really feel behind.
Hero ships die like flies, the small ones have some advantage because they are harder to notice, but the Falcon/Slave I "gameplay" is mostly 2 minutes of constant damage taking, 2-3 people always gang up on these big slow ships (also, why is the Falcon, fastest ship in the galaxy, slow as hell?) and destroy them in no time.
Factions: I agree that this TLJ season doesn't make much sense, nor does it have any depth. But cross-era already destroys any immersion anyway, I feel like playing some early beta ever since it launched.
Credit caps: This is a multiplayer game, there is no reason why they should let you unlock multiplayer stuff offline. Never understood this argument.
Legacy: No arguments here, there were some pretty dope maps. Also, more variation is needed, it's good that we have more planets, but only one map per planet is a joke.

At first I also thought the hero system was unfair - shouldn't everyone get the same chance to be a hero? Now I think the current system is fine - people should get heroes by contributing to a match (even if they get the hero and are bad people need to start somewhere).
It pushes players to contribute more to matches instead of sitting back and being too passive - the only issue atm with this is the game still lets people fly around killing AI to get points while contributing nothing to the objectives.- 8 years ago
Ravudha, I disagree. More than that needs to be done. I don't want to play empire. I admit to just shooting randomly at objectives and crashing into stuff on purpose during rounds when I'm empire, just because. And I honestly could care less about being hero ships anymore, myself. Mainly because I would rather have the credits. I haven't seen much advantage to having them except for saying "Oh cool I'm flying the Millennium Falcon."
With an offline mode to star fighter, people could play whatever ships they wanted to whenever they wanted to. And those who didn't care for multiplayer could have that AND the ability to play the faction they wanted.- 8 years ago
Sounds like you want a bunch of offline/single player features to suit your game style.
With the multiplayer mode it's not only the best players who get heroes. It's whoever gets above a threshold of battle points - in long matches 75% of a team can get access to heroes. Even if someone's not good now they can learn and improve and get there, I know because I did. It's just effort over time instead of being able to play heroes straight away. I've seen plenty of players get a hero and die fast, so obviously they just managed to do it - they're not top players but they got heroes.
I agree with not having a cap on offline/single player credits earned, that's just blatantly handicapping players for greed.

I agree, Kaspen2012. I found a while ago that if I'm tired and not really trying very hard, I can kill a bunch of stuff and die a few times and get less than 100 credits by the end of the round. That CAN actually happen, which is crazy. BUT, just running around, taking an occasional shot at the objective and not doing much of anything useful, except killing AI, and sometimes not even that, and I can get 395 to a couple thousand+ Pretty broken system.
