Have you had any joy with a solution?
Please see the following Xbox help articles for information on Parental Controls:

I've tried all the old-wives tale solutions (FAQs) and other rhetoric in EA "help". The primary (home) account user can access multi-play battlefront and regardless of the Xbox Parental Controls (or age of the child 15), the sub-account can not play multi-player. I haven't even broken the news to him that the elite DLC is likely stuck in my inactive account.
I would love to find an alternative before I just return it and then ban EA games from my house due to misleading and deceptive conduct.
- Anonymous8 years agoI have yet to find a solution. This is EA’s problem and their mistake for not allowing sub accounts that have unrestricted access(regardless of age) to their multiplayer online. Would be great if they could at least respond with a notice stating they are working on a hot fix for this issue. I understand the game just came out but parents are purchasing this game for their children for Christmas only to find out they won’t be able to play the largest selling point of this game which is the multiplayer.
- Anonymous8 years agoThis is not an Xbox security or privacy issue. This is an EA issue and I would appreciate it if you guys actually looked into why sub accounts are being blocked access to the multiplayer even when they have been granted age appropriate access to the game via the xbox’s Family account settings...

I have done all of that already and it does not work. This is NOT an Xbox problem. It is an EA problem. Did I really spend That much money on a game that will not work for the age group most likely to play it? Fix this already.
- Anonymous8 years agoTHIS IS NOT on XBOX, I have issued a non-restricted adult account to my son and because I was truthful in his correct birth date, he can not play???? He can play online Call of Duty WWII (i don;t let him, but he could) and it is far more violent and disturbing than this game. I played the game myself first to make sure it was appropriate and find it great if you disable all voice chat. The only concern I have is with the voice chat from other irresponsible parents children.
Please patch this asap, it is up to parents to decide if our childern can play. Especially when I read that the age is 18. That is ridiculous. My child can drive a car at 16, but not play a Star Wars video game????? [Do not attempt to bypass the swear filter - CM]

this is not related to XBox parental controls. I believe this is caused by the inability to reset the EA account to which my XBox Live account is connected.

Hey all, if the account unable to access the game is an underage account then due to the COPPA law it is not possible for underage children to access the online aspect of many titles. Your children will be able to play certain parts of the game such as single player and offline content, which you can set up by following the instructions here: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/account/give-your-child-access-to-games-on-their-child-account
- Anonymous8 years agoCOPPA is a USA law and I am not in the USA and the law does not apply. In Canada, parents have the right to choose and Xbox gives me enough control through family settings to protect my 14 year old child.
If I also read COPPA correctly, the law does not require that children not be allowed to participate, but must obtain permission from a parent or guardian. I give my child permission to play a star wars video game. I have that right and the fact that a paid for the game gives me the privilege.
I am not a lawyer, but still an educated man and expect EA to issue a refund to my purchases if they can not deliver what the online store states is available to play without stating restrictions.
In fact I purchased the game in my son's account, a 14 year old account and there was no indication during purchase of any restrictions. If you are going to stick to your USA laws, then put them in front of your consumers giving you money and not hidden afterwards.
I am now cancelling my EA subscription and plan to avoid all EA products ubless they stand up and do what's right, allow parents to decide what is best for their children: especially in different countries than your laws govern.
