Error code 0xC0000005

Hello.

I've been playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 for a while and I really enjoy the game. The fact is that after some time not playing it, I've not been able to play it anymore.

The problem is the following:

 - When I launch the game, it opens the sw bf2 window but when it scales to full screen, the window bugs and crashes the app. When I access the crash logs available at the SW BF2 folder, it reports the error "0xC0000005 - The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access."

I've tryed every possible solution that there is at the internet but fill free to give some tips.

PC's main components specs:

 - Intel Core i7 7700HQ

 - Nvidia Geforce 1050

 - 8Gb RAM

 - Running the game on a HDD

Hope you can help me out here, cus I haven't bought this game so I can't play it at all.

Thank You,

Freekillercy

  • @EA_AticThx for the tip but I already found out a fix for it.
It has nothing to do with the file process in this situation. It had to do with the fact that it didn't had permition to write/read some files, that is because of the SO. The fix was to run it as administrator in order to give the app permition to read/write on the files it needs.

  • Hey @freekillercy  from instigating a bit about that error this is what I found.

Application Error 0xc0000005 (Access Violation) error is usually caused by your computer not being able to correctly process the files and settings required to run a particular program or installation. Despite the error showing when you try and use particular pieces of software, it has many different causes including faulty RAM problems, errors with the files of your PC and issues with the settings of your PC.

Try to do use the System File:

    /Atic

What is the SO!?! can you elaborate for other people please?? what permissions did you edit??????

  • @Raijian Hello, sorry for the really late reply. I accidentaly wrote SO instead of OS which means operative system (windows in my case).
In my case, also, I didn’t edit any permissions. All I had to do was to run the game as an administrator.
  • @EA_Atic I have had this error when trying to play after downloading from the epic games launcher. I have the sfc scan and I have tried what worked for freekillercy. Neither seem to be working. I still have the error.

running as Administrator did not help... still getting 0x0000005 unable to start correctly error. Just downloaded on a new Win 11 Lenovo LT.

  • What I did was go to the EA website and download the EA app again and it will tell you that you already have it and it gives you an option that says “repair” and you click repair and it will fix the problems. I couldn’t go and click on the EA app from my desk top because the error code would pop up and not let me open it so I tried it this way and it worked! Hope it works for everyone!
