Events on Australian Servers

Hi, this has been a bit of a problem for me, but recently I started trying Capital Supremacy to get event exclusive items, however the lack of players affects it dearly. So I changed my server ping to US, and I found a game within a few tens of seconds, however the lag was great, and I couldn't shoot or move as of ping rendering it unplayable. Could there be any other way to unlock the event exclusive items by chance?

(I play on PC, Australian servers, as I live here)
