It's kind of true Ewoks do have an advantage but in fairness I think that's how it has to be. The onus is on the troopers to quickly find each other and hunker down working together and sticking together creating the advantage or it's game over for the troopers. If anything when you do find a team of troopers that do that and hunker down quickly in the caves it becomes too easy for the troopers and you will win every time with the Ewoks standing little chance until extraction where if there are enough troopers left they still stand little chance of stopping all of them anyway. Hence why I believe they would want to stop the cave camping. I do agree some tweaking would be beneficial if troopers cannot hunker down the cave as it would be very difficult otherwise. Perhaps making the Ewok screens slightly darker so troopers torches are slightly more blinding while they do not have their see everything ability active but also so they are more easily able to track the light from distance. With that as you say the Ewoks could then track the light on the transport rather than having a blatant marker would make it more interesting. Perhaps the first Ewoks receive a marker and then the rest have to follow their leaders receiving a marker for the lead Ewoks. They would still be free to track the transport light or the troopers. Another idea is to put a slight time delay on boarding the transport having the troopers needing to activate the extraction like an objective on GA.
