Extremely High CPU & Memory Usage Since Update 1.2 Was Released

Since Update 1.2 was released for Battlefront II this past Monday, I've been having serious problems with extremely high CPU and memory usage on the PC version. Even reaching 100% for both and sustaining it for several seconds. The game just barely runs - always stopping and going. I've lowered the graphics settings to minimum and switched to windowed mode, but this didn't help much. Playing against the AI is very difficult because the game doesn't run properly. Playing online is suicide.

This issue is making me really nervous because the internal fans work over time when playing Battlefront II now, and I'm afraid it will burn out. I don't understand what happened, but I didn't have this problem until after I downloaded and installed Update 1.2. Please help!
