Fix This ASAP. Battlefront 2 Chat Should Not Exist.
I'm hoping the Devs or game moderators actually read these posts. I have a serious complaint about the games in game chat and this issue needs to be resolved. The chat should not exist. The toxicity is ruining your game and could cause some major legal issues. Today during a game there was a player talking down to another, not at all uncommon, except the victim of the chat was an 8 YEAR OLD KID. he told the aggressor he was a child, and the other player asked him to go [Edit - Admin.] himself. The kid wrote in all caps to get his point across and told him his age to which the other player responded "IDC go [Edit - Admin.]" Who the * says that to a child? Some may say, well another child would, but it's games like this with this level of toxicity that teach children to talk like that. My daughter is 8, and if someone spoke to her like that no amount of vpn's would keep me from finding them. The chat is not necessary, it distracts from the gameplay and it doesn't help at all. i have never seen someone use the chat for anything useful, only to * talk. Once in a while there are GGs but that should be like an emote or something you can click on that pops up a gg for you. I reported the guy but who the hell knows if that's going to do anything. Even if he gets banned, he makes another account and continues to do it or there are 50,000 other players that are going to do it. I've known someone who has committed [Edit - Admin.] because people told him to, this is not just a video game complaint this is a real world issue that has found it's way into video games and people suffer for it. If you are human and you have any control over the game I would strong mindedly suggest removing this toxicity altogether.
@Anghellic33Even though the online chat is not the reason why different age restrictions for video games exist, it's problematic to let such a young kid play a game like this to begin with.
Sure, singleplayer to try out all these super cool heroes and droids the kids know from the films and series is one thing, but multiplayer would be my no-go rule for kids.
At that point it's imo not of much difference anymore whether they play a SW or a common war themed fps like CoD or Battlefield. Or cartoony fortnite.
Even if the chat is disabled and all, putting kids into a somewhat competitive fps environment has seldom proven to be good. People writing disturbing crap in the chat is only the peak of the iceberg here, it's also a task for the parents to watch out there.
