Found the root cause
Windows 10 enables a kind off vsync , noticed this by msi afterburner, my game was always running on 144 HZ (144fps) so even the intro that normally caps at 200 fps was now even 144 fps
tried few things than maybe vsync was enabled, removed settings folder from my documents, reset nvidia control panel, started game, nothing, stays at 144 fps and Gpu runs max at 64 % now
so was a hardware limit
than i went to my installation folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\STAR WARS Battlefront II ====> starwarsbattlefrontii.exe = right click on it ==> properties ==> compatibility ==> change settings for all users ==> select " Disable full-screen optimisations "
i know this a known issue for other games, but since the latest patches seems i had huge fps drops = this selected , and Gpu runs back at 99% , in my case back high frame rates without drops
ingame graphic setting = High , no vsync, no film grain , no motion blurr , no vignette
attached Two screenshots from ingame : start from a new round , lock to fps and the graphic line
Thanks for the detailed steps! We'll make sure the team gets this - Can anyone else confirm this works?
@Mr_Fulgore : Hi Mr fulgore
do u have dx12 enabled ? I think we have another problem in dx12 mode cos I tried yur workaround : ====> starwarsbattlefrontii.exe = right click on it ==> properties ==> compatibility ==> change settings for all users ==> select " Disable full-screen optimisations "
and it s the same for me : huge fps drops during the game since the update :/
(no problem at all dx11 mode)
- 6 years ago@cyberfredcobra Disabling Full screen optimization did not work... havent played the game in a while and it use to work great... now I am crawling at 10-15FPS ( I have i8700k, SSD HD, 32GB RAM, RTX 2080)
