Thanks for the help, but none of these seem to work either so i'm not sure what else there is to do.
Well, I had this EXACT issue. Launch game - couple of secs - non fullscreen black window appears - another couple of secs - closes to show origin.
However, my fix is only easy to do for windows 10 users. Windows 7 you'd have to do everything manually, or upgrade to 10.

I am able to play the game after doing this with no issues whatsoever.

Nvidia cards:
- Go into Nvidia Control Panel, on the Adjust Desktop Size and Position page, under "Perform Scaling on Display", change "Aspect Ratio" to "No Scaling"This fixed it for me
Any update from EA? Ridiculous.
