I solved this same issue via advice found on a Reddit thread. In the Origin folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin. Set every .exe file associated with Origin to run as Administrator. There are some hiding in subfolders, so check to make sure you got them all. You don't have to worry about any of the vcredist labeled ones. After open Epic and then launch the game. Origin will complain about the mode it is being started in, you can ignore that. And the game should then start. I don't know how or why this works but it does. EA tech support was very unhelpful, they just sent me forum threads, much like this one. But I wanted to share this info just in case they send more people to it.
