They've never patched this and since it's been around when the game come out practically, it's obvious they don't know how to. I would just quit out and report them to Xbox live. Using a glitch to your advantage to win a game I'm sure is breaking Xbox live terms

@A_Bugs_Iife The instances of this happening had gone down and videos of how to do it seemed to slow up so I thought maybe they had patched it.
Given the nature of how the glitch is performed this really isn’t hard to patch, there are a number of ways to approach it. If the Devs can’t patch something like this than all hope for a descent BF 3 is long lost.
As for Xbox, let’s be real. Microsoft is seeking to expand its streaming and e-services platforms. Game bug exploits are against the Xbox terms of service but Microsoft isn’t going to ban a potential subscriber and lose the revenue because that person exploited someone else’s product. You can report players all you want; unless they’ve done something severe Microsoft isn’t going to intervene. We saw that with Rockstar & Take Two. Unless the developers step in to moderate their title it isn’t going to happen.
If the Devs need suggestions on how to logically patch this I’d be happy to give them FREE suggestions ... not that they’ll listen. I honestly think they don’t care more than they can’t write code.

Speak for yourself, I see this bug all the time and with newer players coming into the game I see a lot of low ranks exploit the glitch, all it takes is for some enemy team to exploit this glitch to a new player (s) and they can easily Google or search YouTube how to do this glitch. You may say it's easy to fix but it's quite obvious they didn't know how to fix it or why is a game changing bug like this still in the game? And you're wrong about Microsoft not banning because I personally know some who have been banned for glitch exploiting. Maybe not as much now, but they definitely did. You sound quite knowledgeable about the game and it's a shame they didn't have devs like you on the team!

@A_Bugs_Iife I’ve been into video games since the late 80’s, I’ve seen a thing or two as it pertains to game design & development.
This glitch works because players are able to exploit making a character choice before the game can recognize which characters are active in the session. By changing the order of code execution within the game the Devs can make it so that the game makes the identification process occur before the player can make any selections. There are other options as well but this seems to be the easiest.
There are a lot of game impacting bugs that have been around since the beginning that the Devs haven’t even spoken about let alone fixed. When they don’t even acknowledge constant player reports of bugs it makes one wonder whether they care. Some items could be resolved simply by removing a feature or mechanic yet they’ve left it broken.
Microsoft would, at one point, levy bans on players who partook in significant exploits or ones that had Dev backing (see GTA money glitches) but that was some time ago. Now that Microsoft is is more online oriented with their business they’re not likely to ban anyone; especially if they don’t have evidence of the exploit and you don’t have a method to provide attachments to a player report so good luck with that anymore.
