@billyyank1Play Co-op to get a feeling for the gadgets and weapons that are available for you to unlock. You can also just unlock everything by playing co-op if you want.
Just don't forget that co-op doesn't represent the multiplayer reality properly so the star cards, weapons etc. that work good (or bad) against bots don't necessarily works in the same way against human players. So that's a mistake to avoid when spending much time in co-op.
You can then begin to play against humans in supremacy because it represents the classic conquest mode of Battlefield with a flavour of Rush mode when attacking or defending a capital ship.
I wouldn't recommend Galactic Assault (pure Rush mode) or Blast because these are not really beginner friendly modes.
In Supremacy you have all freedom to move to wherever you want and there's a higher chance to meet single opponents and not all of them clustered together at once. Also there's more space in general.
Play HvH to practise hero play.
Only play hero showdown if you want to make specific tests or refine certain saber combat skills when you're already a veteran. Also Hero Showdown barely earns you any hero XP, so Hero Showdown is really only suitable for this specific stuff because these 1 vs 1 duels that many players agree to do in this mode are not realistic as well. Means that you'll usually have other people supporting you or the opponent in all other modes where heroes can be played.
