So learn to LIVE on your radar to spot enemy troops. Radar is vital to knowing where people are.
Experiment with different classes of infantry, different weapons, different star cards, different style of playing. I tend to still stink at the "run and shoot" play of Assault or Heavy, but I'm level 740 in Specialist and I can snipe with the best of them, so that's my style. Find yours.
That being said, I still get blasted over and over again by much better players than me. You score 100 points for every sacrifice, so rejoice! LOL
- 5 years ago@grrr33nflash I have BF I, but nobody is there anymore. I would play there too if others did. I wish EA would merge the two games.
- 5 years ago@grrr33nflash "In my opinion, BF2 is more of an "aim and shoot" game rather than a "fire from the hip" game like BF2." I think you messed up there. Which one is which?
My forte seems to be Specialist, or at least that's what I suck the least in. But aiming is not easy, especially headshots. I refuse to employ an aimbot cheat (even though I know other players use them all the time). Practice makes perfect, but how should I practice?- 5 years ago
What sensitivity do you run btw, Is it the default?
- 5 years ago@beerus70 First, I have a Logitech G600 gaming mouse that can quickly switch between DPI speeds of 1000, 1600, 2100, and 3200, by pressing a button on the mouse.
In the game under Controller, I've had the Soldier Sensitivity set to 20%, though I suppose I should make it higher. Under General, it is set at 50%.

Also, if you favor Specialist (welcome aboard!) you can try adjusting the game sliders (check YouTube vids for other people's settings) - can't think what they are called off hand, but there are at least 2 sensitivity settings you can adjust to get the best "feel" for aiming and running, etc, - grrr33nflash5 years agoNew Veteran@billyyank1 this is where Co-op comes into play. If I can remember, the first couple Specialist weapons aren't that good. The A280-CFE is great for indoors, and has a zoom upgrade. But the NT-242 is where you want to be. It's 1 shot headshot city, and if you miss, it's easy 2 shot elimination to the body. It's extremely difficult 1-on-1, so use hardened infiltration in close quarters

@grrr33nflashThe base weapon preference completely depends from how exactly you want to play that class 😉
Ironically the only specialist weapon (and I'm a specialist main) where I have unlocked anything is the A280-CFE, because sniper play is straight boring imo while I prefer to play the specialist more like an assault soldier.
I'm more they guy who wants to capture objectives, flank and spearhead assaults.
Also the bullet speed is just as high as the other sniper rifles (1600 m/s) , making it easier to hit running targets than with any assault's weapon (700 m/s) on mid ranges.
But yeah, I remember it to be a real hassle to unlock the 3-round burst, all before co-op was introduced.
On the other hand it's also possible to kill snipers on very far range despite the recoil if you just don't burst too fast.
Often these guys won't retreat into cover because they think they have the better weapon and because lag and latency won't tell them in time that they got hit I guess.
Indoors I use the ion shots for the A280-CFE to bust heavy and droideka shields.
All other sniper rifles are still without any unlocks and I don't even feel the drive to co-op grind them.
Well, unless I want to play an anti-vehicle soldier one day. The NT + ion shot has proven to be really devastating in that regards, making the class essentially even better than the heavy for fighting off vehicles.
Like, is the officer the only class whose features are unique enough to not be used by a specialist in a smiliar, but more versatile way?
