What is your issue related to? General
Summarize your bug I can't pick the same hero after I die in HvV
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? Equinox
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)

What time did you see the bug? (HH:MM AM/PM) 1:39PM
In what game mode did the bug occur? Heroes vs. Villains
What is your time zone? EAT - GMT + 3:00
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play HvV and be defeated. It doesn't matter how just be defeated, don't respawn. When you die push the button that makes you change your hero. I always do this because of the quicker respawn.
What happens when the bug occurs? When you are in the hero selection screen the hero you had selected will be lock. Like someone else picked it and you are forced to pick a different hero.
What do you expect to see? I believe it only happens in the first 6 seconds of the respawn. I am afraid that is all I can tell you.

Keep trying until the issue is solve. I think it is because of the quicker respawn time when you go back to the hero selection.
We've been having multiple reports on this same issue. @EA_Blueberry answered in one of them and it seems to be the one that gathered more attention. It also has a workaround suggested by @grimmace2 . Me too in HvV, frustrating. Sticking to larger game modes until fixed.
Doesn't work. It use to but not anymore. All can do is pick another character or run down the clock and hope you get your character again.

Ok so further tests showed me this is a common BUG. Played some HvV matches in different days since the release of the latest patch, always went back to selection screen after dying to trigger the 6s respawn timer and to check if this unselectable BUG would trigger, and it happened more often then I thought. Can't say it's above 50% chance each time you go back to selection screen, but it felt more or less around that mark: it was very common to trigger it, like if I died 5 times in a match, 2 times I triggered it.
However like mentioned in this report already, in PC we can workaround this BUG by using our Mouse to select the unselectable hero. I'll bring footage of this later, but here's the workaround:
(For PC Players): If you come back to Hero Selection Screen, and you keep pressing SPACE to reselect the same Hero you're using before, but nothing happens, and you see your Hero Icon is greyed out, you just need to double click that Hero for it to become selectable again, and then select him with either another double click or the SPACE bar.
For Console users I don't know what you can do to workaround this issue. Is there another way to select a character other then using the X or A buttons? As on PC we have 2 different ways to select a Hero, using the mouse makes the BUG disappear, whereas SPACE doesn't work. If Console has another method of selecting a character I suggest console players try that out to see if it does help them.
